Join our “Sweet Team” working around the best hand-crafted chocolates in the industry at Phillips Chocolates, Boston’s original artisan chocolatier, celebrating our 99th year & in our 4th generation as a family-owned business.  Phillips Chocolates is looking for a Chocolatier or Pastry Chef to join our team to help produce our artisan chocolates and confections, including our world-famous chocolate turtles.  This is the perfect opportunity for an individual with a passion for making chocolates and candy to expand their abilities working and reporting to the Chief Chocolatier.


–          Prepare a variety of chocolates, caramel and other sweet delights to recipes and standards

–          Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients to maintain freshness

–          Maintain a clean and organized work area

–          Follow all Food Safety and sanitation guidelines

–          Treat all staff with respect and have a positive attitude

–          Team player and collaborate with chocolatiers and other staff to ensure quality and efficient production.  Participates in staff meetings.

–          May perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.


–          Two (2) years’ experience in chocolate, candy production or as pastry chef

–          Strong knowledge of chocolate/candy techniques, including chocolate tempering and experience with making caramels or other confections

–          Must Be able to thrive in a busy, fast paced and high-volume candy kitchen while having an eye for detail and being self-driven

–          Culinary Degree or comparable work experience

–          Must be available to work a full-time schedule with flexible availability to meet needs of business, including Saturdays during the holiday season as necessary.


–          Physical demands of this job are moderate to high. Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs.

–          Carries, handles, and pours contents of hot candy kettles on candy tables for cooling.

–          Ability to climb ladders, stand and walk continuously through shift.

–          Exposure to a cool air-conditioned work environment.
