We are opening a new artisanal bakery shop in Chatham, Cape Cod and seeking a passionate baker to join our bread team. We focus on crafting sourdough bread and artisanal baked goods using seasonal ingredients and various whole grains. We are seeking a talented baker to start in June that is passionate about good bread and pastry.

Responsibilities Include:
Main roles will be in preparing sourdough bread, baguettes, and focaccia
Scale, mix, shape, and bake breads
Prep ingredients and manage inventory
Maintain cleanliness of workstations and common areas
Accept deliveries and perform various tasks to support bakery operations
Ability to lift up to heavy items up to 50 lbs as well as stand for long periods
Plan and schedule workflows

Assist with pastry production when needed

High School diploma or equivalent; some college-level culinary experience is a plus
At least 1-2 years of experience working in a bakery setting or related food-service business
Experience with pre-ferments and maintaining sourdough is desirable
Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions
Punctuality, friendly, respectful to others, and ability to work well in a team setting
Willingness to learn and improve; a growth mindset
Hours: Work days and hours may vary, typically 4-5 days a week with shifts lasting between 7-9 hours; some days may be shorter. You will accrue 1 hour of paid time off for every 20 hours worked.

Other perks: During working hours, complimentary pastries and coffee will be available, along with a loaf of bread to take home (if available). Additionally, there will be plenty of opportunities for taste testing as part of quality control.
