JOB DESCRIPTION
The Hilton Boston Logan Airport is seeking a talented Food & Beverage Operations Manager to join its management team!  This high profile property is located at Logan Airport, four miles from Downtown Boston and seven miles from Fenway Park, In addition to its 600+ guest rooms, this property features 20,000 square feet of banquet/event space and extensive dining options that include  Connolly’s Publik House and Cafe Presto.

The Food & Beverage Operations Manager directs and organizes the activities of the Food & Beverage departments, specifically focusing on Banquets, to maintain the high standards of food and beverage quality, service and marketing to maximize profits through outstanding customer service. Plans and directs the functions of administration and planning of the Food & Beverage department to meet the daily needs of the operation. Implements effective controls of food, beverage and labor costs. Ensures compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards. Helps ensure high standards of food and beverage quality, service and marketing to maximize profits and ensure outstanding customer service. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff.

What will I be doing?

Hiring, scheduling, and training all banquet staff, including conducting roll call, monthly meetings, and illustrating the proper techniques and etiquette for American, French, and buffet and parade types of service.
Monitor staff performance. Defines performance requirements and develops action plans for achievement of goals.
Supervises the set-up of function rooms to include placement of linens, silver, china, and glassware according to event order specifications. Visually inspects function rooms and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory, and set up.
Verbally communicates, in a calm, positive demeanor, during the course of the function with the kitchen, service, beverage, conventions services, and engineering staffs, as well as the guest host to ensure timely execution of events, quality service, and adherence to all applicable federal, state, local safety and health regulations and corporate standards.
Supervises clean-up of function room and proper breakdown and storage of equipment.
Participate in the manager rotation for scheduling in an outlet if the need is there.
Regularly review, evaluate, and respond to customer satisfaction and/or dissatisfaction of the individual outlets; recommend new operating and marketing policies whenever a change in demand, customer dissatisfaction, or a change in competitive environment requires such changes.
Insure compliance with all Hilton Hotels policies and procedures that relate to food and beverage, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulation.
