Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence: Cambridge School of Culinary Arts Marks Milestone Anniversary

We are  thrilled to announce our 50th anniversary, celebrating five decades of culinary education, stewardship, and community. Since its inception in 1974, CSCA has been a cornerstone of culinary education, shaping the careers of thousands of chefs, restaurateurs, and food enthusiasts worldwide.

A Legacy of Culinary Excellence
Founded by Roberta Dowling, CSCA has grown from a small cooking school into a renowned institution known for its comprehensive training programs and commitment to culinary arts. Roberta’s cooking career was extensive. She began teaching for Madeleine Kamman at Modern Gourmet during its first year of operation (l968-l969). While with Ms. Kamman, she received both the Teaching and Professional Chef’s Diplomas, taught non-professional classes and the Professional Chef’s Program, and was named the Senior Teacher of Italian Cuisine. After leaving Modern Gourmet in l974, she opened her own cooking school (CSCA) and catering business (DeGustibus Catering). Roberta passed away on August 17, 2015. Her legacy will continue to live on through the thousands of CSCA graduates, past, present, and future.

Giving Thanks!

Looking to the Future
As CSCA celebrates this milestone, the school remains dedicated to evolving and adapting to the ever-changing culinary landscape. With a focus on sustainability, innovation, and diversity, CSCA continues to inspire the next generation of culinary professionals.

“We are incredibly proud of our history and the impact we’ve had on the culinary world over the past 50 years. This anniversary is not only a celebration of our past achievements but also an opportunity to look forward to the future and the continued success of our students and alumni.”
