The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts Policies and Procedures

Registration

To register for or to check availability in one of our classes, please call the Recreational Program Department at 617-354-2020 or use our Click-n-Cook feature to register online at www.cambridgeculinary.com. Early registration is encouraged, as class size is limited.

CSCA does not send confirmation notices for class enrollment. If you provided an email address we can send you an email confirmation. If you wish to confirm enrollment in a class please contact the Recreational Program Director during the week prior to your class.

Dress Code

CSCA recommends that students wear closed-toe shoes to class and to dress appropriately for a cooking environment. Shorts, open-toed shoes, and flip flops are not allowed to be worn during class.

Disclaimer

CSCA reserves the right to limit class sizes, revise any or all menus, cancel a class, change class time or location, and/or substitute instructors. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, CSCA will contact the students registered and arrange a credit or a refund. In case of inclement weather, CSCA will announce its intent to cancel courses on our Class Cancellation Line: 617-497-8488. It is the responsibility of the student to call for information. Please plan to be in class an average of 3-4 hours. Due to subject matter, some classes may run longer or shorter than the designated time span.

Payment

All payments must be arranged with the Recreational Program Department at the time of registration. CSCA accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, personal checks, cash, money orders, and bank checks. Checks should be made payable to The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. There is a $25.00 service fee for checks returned due to insufficient funds.

Liabilities

The Recreational Program provides cooking classes. The CSCA does not intend, nor does it promise, that these courses will result in job placement or gainful employment in the culinary field. Students participating in the Recreational Program take classes at their own risk. Neither CSCA nor its staff is liable for any injury sustained in the class. The CSCA is not responsible for personal property left unattended in the building.

Nondiscrimination Policy

CSCA does not discriminate against race, color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, or disability, and offers its programs, privileges, rights, and activities to all students. Some courses may be offered in an environment that could be problematic for certain students. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that he/she can participate in the course as offered. We may not be able to accommodate every person. Please contact the Recreational Program Director if you have any questions or concerns.

Withdrawals and Refunds

A full refund less a $10.00 processing fee will be granted to students who withdraw at least 5 business days prior to the start of class. Students withdrawing from classes after the 5-business day deadline will not receive a refund. Students must notify the Recreational Program Director that they will not attend the class 72 hours before the start of class to receive a credit toward another class. If students do not notify the department after the 72 hour deadline, a refund or class credit will be forfeited. Registered students who are absent from the class and have not notified the Recreational Department are responsible for full payment and forfeit their chance for refund and/or class credit.
