CSCA Alumni Share Recent Promotions, Accolades and Openings

[April 15, 2016] Cambridge School of Culinary Arts is proud to share the recent accomplishments of our graduates.

Uma Naidoo, MD, PCP ’12: Has started a Facebook following called ChefUma-MD. She is combining her love for food and cooking, with her background as a Harvard trained psychiatrist to share tips on healthful eating. Her mission is to share the positive physical and mental health benefits of the food we eat, especially spices. Please “like” her Facebook page to sign up for her free mini eBook on turmeric. In addition, she has started blogging on food, health, and nutrition for Harvard Health Press.

Elaine Hsieh, PCP ‘99EHChocolatier has launched their first Passover Collection this month. While they don't have a Kosher-certified kitchen, these are Passover inspired!

Colton Coburn-Wood, PCP ’11:  Is now working as the Executive Chef at a brand new restaurant, Lower Mills Tavern, opening this May in the Lower Mills neighborhood of Dorchester. Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys, Taniya Nayak of Food Network and HGTV, and restaurateur Brian O'Donnell are the owners. The restaurant will be serving traditional and contemporary American Cuisine.

Ryder Ritchie, PCP ’13: Is currently the head chef of Latitude 43 in Gloucester. The restaurant was recently featured on the front page of the Gloucester Times sharing its passion for sustainable fishing and underutilized fish.

Justin Mattera, CCP ’08: is excited to announce he has opened Popped! Gourmet Popcorn & Ice Cream which is now located in Salem MA on Pickering Wharf!

Michelle Hastings, PPP ‘08: Was recently hired as the Director of Operations for  Lexie’s. The restaurant group just opened its 3rd location in Durham, NH to rave reviews. A fourth location in Exeter, as well as a summer location in Newington, is on the horizon.

Mary Loughlin, CCP ’98: Was recently promoted to Assistant General Manager, Gibbet Hill Grill, Groton, MA (Gibbet Hill Grill is part of the Webber Restaurant Group).
