ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF
EDUCATION
The Cambridge School of
Culinary Arts seeks an Assistant Director of Education to whip up exciting new
programs at the School, and into that, fold wit, organizational skills, and
the ability to communicate clearly. The Assistant Director of Education will
measure the School’s success in the classroom and ensure that our adherence to
state standards is properly fortified. Along with the Director, he or she will
devise new curricula for students, streamline and update the existing
materials, and will develop continuing education programs for faculty. The
Assistant Director of Education will whip a stiff peak in our retention rates
and serve as an organized, on-task liaison between students and instructors.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Bachelor’s degree with a
minimum of 5 or more years of prior experience as an instructor in culinary
education and/or technical training.
-Minimum of 5 or more years
working in restaurant and hospitality management.
-Excellent written and
communication skills, along with the ability to multitask and juggle multiple
projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES IN DETAIL:
- Measure the outcome of
the educational process, to ensure that programs meet objectives as well as
requirements of state regulatory bodies. Policies relate to the areas of
instruction, curriculum, student satisfaction, academic and attendance
progress, and licensing. Streamline existing quirks, making sure that
students attend a full eight hours of class, as well as work with kitchen
staff to ensure appropriate supply and equipment.
- Oversee the development
of new curricula in conjunction with the Director. Measure the outcome of
the program’s educational process, meet or exceed the retention program’s
objectives, ensure that existing curriculum and programs remain up to date,
and consistently streamline curriculum on an ongoing basis in conjunction
with the Academic Supervisor and Director.
- Maintain student records,
student retention, organize regular instructor meetings and communicate
curriculum changes promptly between
the Director and instructors.
Maintain printed materials for reading and teaching, including maps, and
handouts. Collaborate with instructors to maintain student and instructor
portals.
- Establish and further
professional development programs for all academic staff including all full
time faculty. This includes conferences, seminars and field trips, among
other opportunities. Facilitate regular instructor evaluations. Develop and
streamline training process and handbook for faculty.
- Coordinate orientation
and graduation, as well as other duties to be determined by Director.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May be required to work
nights and weekends as necessitated by business circumstances.
- Perform other duties as
needed, directed or assigned.
